Science & Technology
The same God who spoke the universe into existence invites you to study it. Every discovery, line of code or formula points back to the Creator. Jessup’s computer science, mathematics and biochemistry programs build the problem-solving skills that STEM careers demand, while training students like you to innovate thoughtfully and lead with integrity.

A CALLING TO DISCOVER
A science and technology degree prepares students for STEM careers across software development, data science, mathematics and medical research.
Jessup's STEM programs span computer science, mathematics and biochemistry, teaching programming languages, mathematical reasoning and laboratory science in small classes, with a Christian view of technology and creation running through every course.

Why Jessup
.avif)
Faith First
Since 1939, faith and learning haven't lived in separate rooms here. They're woven together in the classroom, in chapel, and in the way our faculty teach. You won't have to choose between growing your mind and deepening your faith. Here, they grow together.

Affordable Excellence
We're the most affordable private Christian university in Northern California, and we don't make you guess what it'll cost. Nearly every student receives aid, and we get you clear numbers early so you can plan with confidence. Exceptional education is within reach.

Safe All Around
Safety here means more than a secure campus in one of California's safest cities. It's a place that's safe spiritually, safe emotionally, and safe to take the risks that help you grow. This is somewhere you can stretch, stumble, and become who God made you to be.

Community
Small classes mean you're known by name, not lost in a lecture hall. Faculty who mentor, friends who show up, a campus where people actually see you. You'll find your people here, and they'll walk with you.

Regional Proximity
More than 60% of our students come from within a hundred miles, so you're close enough to home without being right on top of it. You'll be rooted in a NorCal network of churches, employers, and internship connections across the Sacramento corridor. Familiar ground, with room to grow.

Mentorship
From day one you'll have advisors, internships, and a clear path toward a career that matters. We focus on high-impact fields like health sciences, business, psychology, leadership, and aviation, and every student is grounded in Bible and theology. We don't just hand you a degree. We help you find your calling and walk with you toward it.

FAQs
Answers to what prospective science and math students ask us most.
What science and technology degrees does Jessup offer?
Four. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry run at the undergraduate level. The Master of Science in Computer Science runs as a graduate degree in San Jose.
Can students earn an online STEM degree at Jessup?
Yes. The computer science major runs fully online in 7-week sessions with six start dates a year, and the coursework matches the Rocklin version exactly. Mathematics and biochemistry run on campus, where laboratory work requires it.
What concentrations does the computer science major include?
Two: Data Science and Software Engineering. The data analytics track adds artificial intelligence and a second data science course, while software development adds mobile computing, web stack and database systems. Both sit within science technology engineering and mathematics.
What programming languages do computer science students learn?
Python across programming, data structures and algorithms courses, Java for mobile computing, JavaScript for web stack, R for data science and C alongside Python in operating systems. Graduates leave fluent in at least two high-level languages.
What does the MSCS in San Jose cover?
Data science and database management, software development and network security, plus platform architecture covering artificial intelligence and deep learning. Classes meet one weekend a month at the San Jose campus.
Does the biochemistry degree prepare students for medical school?
Yes. The major builds the chemistry, biology and biochemistry foundation that medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacology expect, alongside molecular biology, microbiology and pathology coursework.
Why pair mathematics with computer science?
Mathematics and computer science overlap heavily in content and coursework, and math forms the foundation of cryptography, quantum computing and machine learning. Jessup offers a mathematics minor built specifically for computer science majors.
What career paths do STEM graduates follow?
Graduates enter software development, data analytics, actuarial work, statistics, biochemistry research and teaching. Related careers reach across information technology and information science, and STEM occupations keep growing. Many continue to graduate school or medical school.
Can students minor in these subjects?
Yes. Computer science offers a general minor and a data science emphasis minor, and mathematics offers a general minor plus one designed for computer science majors.
How does faith shape science and technology at Jessup?
Students learn to articulate a Christian ethical perspective on technology and science, and biochemistry majors develop a worldview that holds scientific work alongside respect for creation.
